PCB PWB Layout Designer
Skills: Cadence Allegro 14.7, Mentor Graphics PADs & Expedition, Valor NPI, Gerber Files, PCB & PWB Designer Windsor, CT FTE 5-7 years
Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex PCB Design layouts or revisions per verbal instructions, electrical inputs, existing hardware, or engineering lab models, received from both mechanical and electrical engineering and/or other technical support personnel to create highly complex circuit card assemblies incorporating best practice for fabrication, assembly and testability
  • Interface and troubleshoot printed circuit designs, revisions and CAD library models with Manufacturing, Engineering and PWB fabrication vendors
  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home)
  • An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed
  • Design layout of Multi-layer complex mixed signal, mixed technology, high density PCB designs. Provide full documentation for fabrication and assembly.
  • Help maintain and support eCAD Library
  • Layout for placement and circuitry routing of Printed Circuit Boards for optimal electrical, EMI, thermal and structural performance. Understanding of design rules constraint management and parasitic analysis. Typical designs are high density, mixed technology designs with analog, digital and low power circuitry.
  • Utilize Valor post processing checks, DFx
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background designing high reliability Printed Circuit Boards per engineering requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience in PCB / PWB Layout
  • The candidate be an expert user in Cadence Allegro version 17.4 software
  • The candidate must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to problem solve independently
  • Strong understanding of Electronic Hardware design
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving aptitude
  • Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
  • Strong Customer Service orientation, to work with Design Engineering Customers
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • General ability to be the focal for designs and provide CAD tool expertise to internal customers
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through with work assignments and support management's policies and procedures
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to continually learn new technologies and processes
  • Must have a passion for accuracy and customer service
  • Certification may be required for technical support roles
