Job Requirements / Description

Serves as a risk officer for the Client organizations Exam Management and Regulatory Liaison Office responsible for the promotion, support, monitoring and reporting on Citis interactions with its regulators, including queries arising in the normal course of business outside of specific examinations, and managing supervisory examinations, globally.

Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with the Client product and function coverage teams to develop and apply program solutions that meet business and customer needs in a manner consistent with the Citi regulatory framework.
  2. Coordinate interactions with regulators by assisting in providing oversight for supervisory examinations and being a central contact for regulators; manage events related to examinations and continuous monitoring, including working with businesses and functions to negotiate scope and timing of reviews, monitoring requested data aggregation, and coordinating and attending regulatory meetings with control functions and business unit personnel; collaborate with Business Heads to provide guidance on regulatory matters.
  3. Provide regular updates to management regarding the matters being handled, including collection, tracking, and resolution of queries, ensuring completeness and responsiveness of submissions, and timely escalation and resolution of potential issues.
  4. Communicate extensively (orally and in writing) and develop effective relationships with regulators.
  5. Establish and develop effective relationships within Citigroup senior management and various internal functions to obtain information/documentation to respond to regulatory requests proactively and on time with quality.
  6. Analyze, digest, and summarize information/documentation responsive to regulatory requests.
  7. Identify mitigating facts and circumstances to respond to potential issues identified during the examination, pre-exam sessions, and post-exam sessions.
  8. Monitor the full lifecycle of identified regulatory issues ensuring that concerns are communicated, assigned responsibility, and tracked to resolution.
  9. Maintain the centralized repository where documents are stored and previous regulatory and supervisory findings, reports, and similar documents.
  10. Steward the drafting of the firms Response Letters and coordinate involvement of relevant internal stakeholders on the development of Corrective Action Plans and associated target dates.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
  12. Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of Client organization rules, regulations, risks, and typologies
  2. Experience with or previous exposure to internal control functions and regulators within the region, particularly banking regulators
  3. Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive
  4. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
  5. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Ability to both work collaboratively and independently; ability to navigate a complex organization
  7. Advanced analytical skills
  8. Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  9. Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  10. Demonstrated knowledge in area of focus

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree; experience in compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof; experience in area of focus

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $129,840.00 - $194,760.00
