Data Warehouse Programmer/Analyst Needed!

The Data Warehouse (DW) Programmer/Analyst works in conjunction with the Data Warehouse team to develop and support organization-wide reporting, ETL, data warehouse, and data analysis technologies. The DW Programmer/Analyst shall participate in gathering and documenting requirements, designing and building reporting solutions for internal departments. This position will participate in the design and development of data warehouse and reporting infrastructure using SQL Server technologies. The DW Programmer/Analyst shall have a significant role in hands-on development as well as high-level design of these initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate advanced techniques for reviewing and troubleshooting complex code designs written by multiple developers, reverse engineering, identifying incompatibilities and providing alternatives for improved design and performance.
- Knowledge of server software operation, maintenance and extension (using various programming tools) and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to multiple server platforms.
- Ability to take direction, accept criticism constructively and to be diplomatic when reviewing work of others.
- Ability to solve problems and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
- Listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) to understand and respond positively to their requests.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff and outside vendors.
- Have exceptional initiative and follow-through on projects with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, managers and supervisors, customers/clients, and members of the public.
Experience & Education:
- 3-5 years general relational database and reporting development experience.
- 3+ years experience with BI/data warehousing analysis and development including database design, ETL and reporting.
- 3+ years experience using Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures and SSIS/DTS packages and using reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and/or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
- 2+ years experience using Business Intelligence tools (MicroStrategy preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience using modeling techniques as a tool for application design and development.
Knowledge of:
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Server development including database design and stored procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of SSIS/DTS package design and development.
- Advanced knowledge of Crystal Reports and/or Microsoft Reporting Services including report design and development.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft OLAP tools and analysis constructs.
- Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle Methodology.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Access and Project.
