Are you an accomplished direct-to-consumer sales leader? MASA MTS is hiring a new State Sales Director for Virginia . This is a front-line management role where you'll hire, train, and mentor a team of sales consultants (1099 employees) while being directly involved in new business development.
Reporting to our Vice President of Sales for the Eastern U.S. Region, you’ll refine the sales and marketing strategy for your state as you:
- Drive revenue growth with a diversified mix of product offerings.
- Foster a positive work environment for your team based on hard work, trust, doing right by others, and continuous improvement.
- Establish a culture of accountability by setting high standards, getting to know each team member, and providing ongoing personalized coaching and timely feedback.
- Align with the company brand and collaborate with other regions to maintain consistency in our go-to-market efforts.
- Leverage your network to expand and diversify partnerships with other businesses, such as healthcare companies, physicians’ practices, wealth management firms, accounting firms, law practices, etc.
- Report on your progress toward key performance indicators and revenue targets.
- Represent the MASA at a state level (Chamber of Commerce, Senior Centers, local community events, state events, and more).
To succeed in this fast-paced job, you’ll need:
- A full-time residence in Virginia and a valid/active driver’s license.
- A solid track record of selling products and/or services directly to consumers.
- 5+ years of sales management experience.
- A propensity to think and act entrepreneurially, discovering and implementing creative new ways to increase exposure for your offerings.
- A team-selling mentality as you closely collaborate with your direct reports, peers, superiors, and a wide variety of outside individuals and third-party organizations.
It’s a plus if you have:
- Work experience within the health insurance industry.
- Managed independent agents (1099 employees).
- Experience with one-call close sales processes where you’ve found ways to increase conversion ratios consistently.
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Experience selling in a seminar sales model.
POSITION TYPE: Full-time employee with benefits.
COMPENSATION: Base salary + uncapped commission overrides + bonuses totaling $140-150k per year at plan.
TRAVEL: Our sales process evolves around in-person seminars throughout the state. To grow the business, you can expect to have a monthly travel schedule that looks something like this:
Week 1: out and back on the same day for 2-3 days
Week 2: 2 overnight stays
Week 3: 2 overnight stays
Week 4: office week – no travel
You will have the flexibility to manage your time so that you can work from home most Mondays and Fridays.
