Perle Restaurant is an intimate, upscale French bistro located in the heart of Old Town Pasadena and we are seeking a talented Pastry Chef to join our "Perle Family."
Our Chef/Owner is Michelin-trained in world-renowned kitchens in NYC and Europe, for chefs such as Daniel Boulud, Gordon Ramsay, Daniel Clifford (Midsummer House). Our team consists of motivated, positive-minded individuals that hail from similar high-end restaurants such as Petit Trois, Faith & Flower, Auburn, and Vespertine. Similar work experience highly preferred, but most importantly, we value a team player attitude, reliability, and devotion to high quality food and service.
This is a tremendous opportunity for fine dining level experience in the SGV.
- Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the Chef/Owner and Pastry Cook
- Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends
- Prepare a variety of high quality pastries & desserts in a fast-paced environment
- Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Create tasting menu desserts and specialty items for VIP guests and parties
- Ensure the pastry section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
- Creativity to design new and unique menu items to attract customers
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques
- Positive, team-player attitude
- Reliability and punctuality
- High level of quality control and presentation skills
- Stamina and speed in a fast-paced environment
- Time management skills to deliver orders on schedule and avoiding wasting food
- Small business mindset with flexibility and willingness to jump in and assist wherever occasional help is needed
