Job Title : Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning

Location : Boston, MA



Key Responsibilities :


Strategic Planning & Execution :

  • Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies, balancing supply and demand across global markets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory) to align supply chain plans with product development and commercialization timelines.
  • Support product launches by ensuring timely availability of materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data analytics to improve forecasting accuracy, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory levels.


Demand and Supply Planning :

  • Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, including demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory optimization.
  • Build accurate supply chain models to anticipate and address potential shortages, excesses, or operational bottlenecks.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, balancing business needs with cost efficiency.


Supplier & Vendor Management :

  • Collaborate with Procurement to develop strong supplier relationships and ensure reliable delivery of materials.
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance, focusing on quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Mitigate risks in the supply chain, including supply disruptions, lead time variability, and quality issues.


Team Leadership & Development :

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain planning team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the supply chain function.
  • Collaborate with leadership to build scalable supply chain capabilities to support the company’s growth trajectory.


Data Analytics & Technology :

  • Leverage supply chain planning software and data analytics to optimize performance, improve forecast accuracy, and enhance decision-making.
  • Drive the adoption of digital tools and technologies that provide real-time visibility into supply chain operations.
  • Analyze and present key metrics (e.g., forecast accuracy, inventory turns, on-time delivery) to executive leadership and stakeholders.



Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with a focus on biotech, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in S&OP processes, demand/supply planning, and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience leveraging data analytics to drive supply chain decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with ERP and supply chain planning software


Preferred Skills :

  • Familiarity with biotech product lifecycles, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and FDA regulations.
  • Experience managing international supply chains and working with global vendors.
  • Certification in APICS CPIM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
