McGrath Honda of Elgin is seeking an experienced Warranty Administrator to join our team today! If you are a motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with others, we would love to hear from you! The ideal candidate must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment. Strong computer skills are required and previous warranty administration and automotive dealership experience is preferred.
As the Warranty Administrator, you will be responsible for all aspects of the dealerships’ warranty processing. You will be expected to work efficiently with your peers to ensure the completeness of all warranty claims submitted to the manufacturer.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Process warranty claims on a timely basis
- Determine applicable labor operation codes, failed parts, and any other data coding required to properly process warranty claims
- Review all warranty paperwork to ensure proper documentation, in accordance with the manufacturer’s Warranty Policies & Procedures Manual
- Reconcile all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedules
- Review all claims to confirm applicable warranty coverage, proper pricing, and necessary manufacturer authorizations have been obtained prior to submission
- Clarify any concerns about the complaint, cause, or correction of a warranty claim
- Resubmit all rejected claims promptly or receive authorization from service management to write them off
- Keep informed of all factory recalls and bulletins
- Keep service managers well informed on trends, documentation issues, etc
- Assist service advisors and technicians with any warranty questions
- Assist with warranty audits and special projects as needed
- Complete all required warranty training courses
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Positive attitude
- General knowledge of automotive parts and service processes
- Previous dealership experience
- Monday thru Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays or Sundays as month end close requires
