Application Developer ( Hybrid/Contract)

Summary:

The Application Developer is a seasoned professional responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical system applications. This role requires a deep understanding of programming languages, development methodologies, and problem-solving techniques. The developer will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop solutions, and ensure applications meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Development: Develop new applications from scratch, following established standards and best practices.
  • Application Maintenance: Maintain and enhance existing applications to address changing business needs and ensure optimal performance.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing to identify and resolve defects, ensuring applications meet quality standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare clear and concise documentation to support application development, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date on the latest development technologies and trends to drive innovation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., .NET, C#)
  • Demonstrated experience with application development and maintenance
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in the insurance industry (preferred)
  • Knowledge of workflow solutions (e.g., OnBase) (preferred)
