Job Summary

The Manager, Compensation Americas is responsible for managing the compensation function and supporting HR Business Partners in the Americas region. This role develops, implements, and administers compensation programs, policies, and procedures to make Nidec standout as an employer of choice.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs for employees in the Americas region.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation programs and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with market competitive compensation practices.
  • Provides consultation to HR Business Partners and management on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans for the Americas region.
  • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting compensation data.
  • Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure competitive and cost-effective compensation practices are maintained.
  • Ensures compliance with country and local compensation laws and regulations for Americas Region.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of country and local employment regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation for the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to evaluate complex data sets, consolidate, and present data in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Advanced proficiency and data analysis skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Intermediate proficiency in other Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with HR business partners and management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, human resources, or other related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in compensation.
  • 1+ year managing subordinates preferred.
  • Certified compensation professional credentials preferred.
  • Workday experience preferred.
