This position will be home based located in Eastern Region of US.
ROLE OBJECTIVE: To drive profitable sales for a defined territory, while providing leadership and maintaining key customer accounts for Bird products. Position entails management of key OEM accounts, value added resellers, manufacturing representatives, and integrators within the respective region. This position requires leadership and coaching skills to motivate regional distribution, representatives, and resellers. Additionally, the Regional Sales Manager will work in concert with Product Management, Applications Engineering, and Marketing to purse business development to grow sales and product recognition. Travel throughout the region on a timely basis will be necessary to understand the business environment, potential, and local bias to help facilitate and Birds Channel Partners, understand the opportunities and drive new business.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS/SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1: Develop an environment of continual improvement through the use of Lean tools.
2: Promote the Bird Family Values through your actions: Trust, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement, and Accountability.
3: Be able to describe quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.
4: Ensure proper performance management, training, and development.
5: Achieve and/or exceed annual sales targets (assigned quotas) via direct sales with customers as well as successfully managing hybrid sales channels to include but not be limited to: Manufacturer's Representatives, Distribution, OEM's, Integrators, as well as other channel partners.
6: Assist in the deployment, implementation, and execution of yearly strategic sales plans to expand the company's customer base, ensure Bird's continued position in the marketplace, and capture/identify growth in your region.
7: Build, cultivate, and promote strong, lasting customer relationships by partnering, supporting, and developing sales channels while understanding and identifying customer requirements and needs.
8: Regulary present sales, revenue, and expense reports and realistic forecast to the management team.
9: Identify emerging market, market trends, customer product needs, while being aware of our position and competitors position in the marketplace.
10: Organize and participate in regular customer training sessions of Bird products and services.
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES (Applicant must meet all to be considered):
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired. Minimum 5 years' experience in Wireless/RF sales and/or service with working knowledge of wireless customers and accounts in the Eastern U.S. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Good presentation skills and experience managing multiple sales channels.
Any experience with Military/Government sales is a plus
Essential Functions:
Able to use phone; communicate using speech; hearing and vision skills; sit or stand for moderate periods. Ability to travel.
