Job Title: Commercial Director – Renewable Energy

My client is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, committed to driving the transition towards a sustainable future. With a strong focus on wind, solar, and energy storage projects, they are at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution.

Position Summary:
The Commercial Director will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the company’s commercial strategy within the renewable energy market in the Houston region and surrounding areas. This senior leadership position will be responsible for identifying and capturing new business opportunities, negotiating and structuring complex commercial agreements, and fostering strategic partnerships to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy to expand the company’s footprint in the renewable energy market within the assigned region.
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including utility-scale renewable energy projects, corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other commercial ventures.
  3. Lead the negotiation and structuring of complex commercial agreements, such as power purchase agreements, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, and project finance agreements.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project development, engineering, finance, and legal, to ensure the successful execution of commercial initiatives.
  5. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, independent power producers, corporate buyers, and relevant regulatory bodies.
  6. Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities and mitigate risks.
  7. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums, promoting the company’s capabilities and strengthening its brand presence.
  8. Manage and mentor a team of commercial professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
