As a member of the NPH Team, the Kitchen Lead contributes to an excellent guest experience by preparing food menu items with care. Ensures all proper food handling protocols are followed and that cleanliness standards are maintained. Working with the management team ensures that all orders are properly placed, and all products are secured. Daily Checklists and temperature logs are completed. Food is prepared according to NPH standards in quality and timeliness. Alerts management of any equipment needs or repairs needed. Actively participates in cooking daily.
Essential Functions:

  • Leads BOH Team by creating and upholding standards for presentation and preparation of food and beverage items
  • Prepares daily check list and start all required kitchen prepare works.
  • Prepares food of consistent quality following the designed recipes.
  • Manages and labels all food containers as per safety standards.
  • Manages and prepares inventories for pars, prep, line and storage.
  • Conducts month-end inventory counts.
  • Plans and implements new menus, brand and company standards in conjunction with management.
  • Keeps the kitchen area neat, clean and free of any potential safety hazards.
  • Adopts standard regulation protocol to perform cleanings for all areas of the kitchen and ensure all staff in the department adhere to these guidelines.
  • Maintains all required logs.
  • Properly handles kitchen equipment such as grills, oven, fryers, and etc.
  • Maintains relationships and interacts with external vendors and suppliers
  • Prepares food menu items as directed
  • Practices safe handling of all food items, according to company process /policy and OSHA standards
Supervisory Responsibility: Manages the work of line cooks.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • 1-3 years related experience.
  • Experience in preparing daily checklists, inventory management and maintaining required logs.
  • Ability to plan and implement ne menus.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, OSHA regulations and maintaining a clean and hazard-free kitchen environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain timeliness and attendance.
Work Environment: This role operates in a professional kitchen, with exposure to potential hazards including kitchen equipment, extreme heat, various food items.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
  • frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, use of fine and gross motor skills;
occasional bending or lifting up to 25 lbs. Exposure to extreme temperatures, various food items.
