Job Description
The nonpartisan Legislative Affairs Agency provides objective, accurate, and timely services and products to the Alaska Legislature and Alaskans to support and inform policy making, facilitate public access to the legislative process, and preserve the legislative institution.
Working in seamless partnership across sections, staff approach their tasks with professionalism, grace, and courtesy in supporting the challenging and vital work of the legislative branch.
The Legislative Affairs Agency, Division of Legal and Research Services, is seeking an Enroller-Bill Typist. The position is a full-time seasonal position during the legislative session. The Enroller-Bill Typist assists in producing bills, resolutions, and amendments of the legislature and in preparing passed legislation for transmittal to the Governor. The Enroller-Bill Typist is required to be politically neutral and to maintain confidentiality.

- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience operating computer equipment and using word processing software.
- Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Mastery of English grammar, style, usage, spelling, and punctuation.
- Understanding of the legislative process and state government.
- Experience prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to act professionally, objectively, and impartially and to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle politically sensitive material.
- Willingness to work unscheduled overtime on short notice.

- An average of 21 days per year of accrued leave. The State offers paid leave starting at 6:04 h:mm a pay period or 21 days a year. If you have previous time working for the State of Alaska in a leave eligible position, the time will be calculated into your accrual rate.
