We are seeking a Research Data Analyst for a position that is open in the Biostatistics and Methods Core at the School of Nursing. The successful applicant will work with an interdisciplinary team of faculty. Responsibilities will include data management and data analyses under the supervision of Senior Biostatisticians.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing data monitoring, data management, and data cleaning.
  • Conduct statistical analyses for studies using standard statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R).
  • Design and prepare tables, figures, and listings to illustrate analytic findings.
  • Collaborate with statisticians, social scientists, and clinicians in drafting of statistical design, methods, and analysis sections for reports, scientific papers, and grant proposals.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong quantitative skills, experience with data management, and applied data analysis.
  • Expert User STATA and R.
  • Knowledge of a database system, e.g., REDCap and survey tools, e.g., Qualtrics a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in quantitative-related field.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
