Manager, Ventures (Brand Incubation)

UTA seeks a Venture Incubation Manager to play a key role in identifying, developing, and launching new brands within UTA’s portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, execute, and scale innovative brand concepts that resonate with target consumers and drive business growth.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 commensurate with experience and skills.

What You Will Do

  1. Ideation and Concept Development: Contribute to brainstorming sessions to generate new brand concepts based on market insights, consumer trends, and business objectives. Develop detailed brand concepts, including positioning, value proposition, target audience, and product offerings.
  2. Talent Management: Build and manage relationships with clients, providing guidance, support, and strategic advice to help them achieve their career goals. Help to craft contracts, endorsement deals, and other business agreements on behalf of clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. Advocate for clients' interests and protect their brand integrity in all professional engagements.
  3. Market Research and Validation: Conduct comprehensive market research to assess the competitive landscape, consumer preferences, and market gaps. Validate brand concepts through consumer surveys, focus groups, expert calls, data analysis, and market testing to ensure alignment with target market needs and preferences.
  4. Brand & Business Strategy and Planning: Build out comprehensive business strategy and plan, outlining where to play and how to win for incubated businesses. Create detailed financial models and pro formas to project future performance and validate business model viability. Develop strategic brand plans, including marketing strategies, product development roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies. Collaborate with marketing, product development, and sales teams to define brand positioning, messaging, and launch plans.
  5. Brand Development and Execution: Oversee the development of brand identity elements, including brand name, logo, packaging design, and visual assets, managing and coordinating with branding agencies. Manage the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation to commercialization, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and quality standards.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams within Ventures, across the agency, and with portfolio companies to drive towards success. Collaborate with external partners, such as agencies, vendors, and industry experts, to support brand development and marketing activities.
  7. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of brand initiatives and track performance against business objectives. Analyze market data, consumer feedback, and sales metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.

What You Will Need

  • 2+ years of experience in management consulting.
  • 2+ years of experience in consumer startups, startup incubation, or entrepreneurship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and trends and a proven track record of successfully managing and supporting startups.
  • Strong strategic orientation and toolkit.
  • Experience in conducting market research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong client service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments, adapting quickly to shifting priorities without compromising quality.
