Concentric Corporation is currently seeking a talented Tax Manager for our client in the Omaha area.


The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing client tax engagements, working directly with clients to improve business strategies, and ensuring engagement efficiency and client satisfaction. This role includes managing client relationships, expanding services, and mentoring staff members.

The Tax Manager will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax and accounting services while fostering long-term client partnerships. Candidates should possess a deep understanding of public accounting, including attestation engagements, tax return preparation, and compliance with GAAP standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage tax and attestation engagements, ensuring all phases of the project run smoothly, efficiently, and meet client expectations. This includes providing strategic business improvement recommendations.
  • Supervise and mentor staff on projects, offering guidance and support. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Plan, lead, and manage multiple tax and attestation projects, delegating tasks to staff, ensuring compliance with tax codes, and overseeing the preparation of various tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, and nonprofits.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, responsible for building relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services, and expanding the client portfolio.
  • Demonstrate leadership by bringing innovative solutions to both clients and firm leadership. Proactively address obstacles and capitalize on opportunities to enhance client outcomes.
  • Ensure all work meets professional quality standards, is accurate, and completed within deadlines. Foster open communication, teamwork, and transparency within project teams.
  • Manage all phases of attestation engagements (compilations, reviews, and audits) for small to medium clients and lead key phases for larger clients, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.

  • Articulate ideas and recommendations clearly in both verbal and written form. Exhibit strong client-facing communication skills and demonstrate confidence in representing the firm.
  • Provide developmental experiences and mentorship for team members. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Proactively identify and suggest improvements when challenges arise. Bring creative solutions to leadership and clients.
  • Follow firm and industry risk management protocols, ensuring all client data is handled securely and in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Stay informed of developments in both client industries and tax/accounting standards. Demonstrate resilience and an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Leverage technology to streamline routine tasks, enhancing efficiency. Maintain proficiency in accounting and tax software systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong background in attestation and tax disciplines.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities.
  • Extensive experience with GAAP, tax preparation, tax compliance, and regulatory issues.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and client management skills.
