About the Role:


Slingmax Rigging Solutions and I&I Sling are seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will play a key role in both existing product improvements and the development of new high-performance synthetic lifting slings, heavy lift hardware, and other equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, to position our products as leaders in both domestic and international markets.

Additionally, you will interface with the engineering team at our Yale Cordage division to support the development of synthetic rope products.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all Slingmax and I&I Sling products, their functions, and capabilities to provide internal technical support.
  • Lead new product development and continuous improvement of existing products by mastering the full engineering process.
  • Write and present technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to technical inquiries from product end users and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure products meet international standards and regulations.
  • Operate laboratory testing equipment.
  • Assist in creating publishable research findings (abstracts, papers, technical reports).
  • Travel up to 10% for domestic and international assignments.


Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Required : Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field from an ABET accredited program. Entry-level engineering graduate.
  • Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Textiles Engineering.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in textile and ISO/ASQ 9001 environments.
  • Familiarity with programming (Python, Matlab, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Solidworks.


Working Conditions:

  • Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and handling testing equipment.
  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and occasional loud noise (hearing protection may be required).
