Our Global HR team partners with our business leaders to attract, retain, and develop Hilton's most important asset, our Team Members.


What will I be doing?


The VP HR Consulting will oversee the Finance and Development HR Consulting team and will lead the planning and execution of strategies relating to talent management, team member engagement, workforce planning, process improvement, and change implementation. Working directly with our Chief Financial Officer/President, Global Development, the position will create robust strategic partnerships; pursuing in-depth business knowledge and facilitating cross-functional teams to drive solution-based responses to client needs. The position will provide critical input in the development of business strategy by assessing risks and rewards relating to talent strategy, and strengths and constraints of the organization.


More specifically, you will:

  1. Align HR strategy and processes with the business' strategic and operating goals.
  2. Craft short- and long-term HR plans and initiatives to drive business strategies and promote a unified company culture.
  3. Build focused organizational development plans with your business partners, including leadership succession planning, workforce planning, talent management, performance management, and organizational design.
  4. Coach senior leaders to drive decisions and outcomes and build impactful, engaged teams.
  5. Apply HR planning models to identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps and run programs to fill gaps and build a strong talent pool.
  6. Advise clients on overall talent strategy to drive retention, engagement, and performance.
  7. Inspire a strong culture of accountability and results orientation.
  8. Own annual and point-in-time HR process rollouts for internal clients, ensuring full awareness and providing necessary education as needed.
  9. Lead and manage your HR team, building organizational capability and effectiveness; directly and indirectly, leading and other staff members conducting various projects in support of the enterprise.
  10. Collaborate with other members of the Global HR group to ensure optimal internal client service. Assisting with the management of other HR Consultants as needed or required.
  11. Ensure mandated compliance on all legal and financial requirements as per relevant legislation and Hilton policy; partner with Legal and Finance departments and (where necessary) governmental agencies to respond to information requests as needed.

  3. Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills, including articulating complex analytical topics to a wide audience, who may or may not be familiar with analytics or the subject matter.
  4. Ability to always exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  5. Ability to stay calm and effective while handling multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritizing responsibilities.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work internally across all teams as well as externally with partners and vendors.
  7. Comfort in a highly visible role that requires sound judgment, strong and tested leadership skills, and significant experience in a constantly evolving, dynamic organization.
  8. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  9. Problem solver, who solves issues effectively and creatively while maintaining a high level of flexibility, professionalism, and integrity.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Fifteen (15) years of professional experience working in a global, corporate, matrixed environment.
  2. Ten (10) years of experience in an HR Consulting, HR Business Partner, Organizational Design, or Talent Management role.
  3. Eight (8) years of experience at Director or above level; leading diverse teams.
  4. Travel as needed.

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  1. Prior experience as lead HR business partner at the chief executive level.
  2. Prior experience in Employee Relations or working closely with employee relations as an HRBP.
  3. Prior experience supporting client groups in business development, real estate, and/or finance.
  4. Broad global understanding of relevant employment legislation.
  5. Prior experience that includes a deep understanding of budgets, reconciliation, and forecasting, as well as risk and compliance.
