Purpose:
The Director of Community Life is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the Family Ministries team as well as the spiritual needs of all adults. The DCL will develop leaders and must be highly relational. The Director of Community Life must have a strong team mentality, with the ability to lead groups and volunteers to provide spiritual development and a missional focus. The DCL will have a heart for the local church, missions, and a desire to use his/her God given abilities in service to First Presbyterian Church, the Edmond community, and the world in accordance with God’s will.
Accountability:
The Director of Community Life is under the supervision of the Executive Pastor. The DCL will work alongside his/her supervisor, staff members, and committee leaders on behalf of the congregation. The Director of Community Life is subject to the review of the Session by his/her supervisor and the Personnel Committee.
Description/Responsibilities:
Equip and provide oversight to all adult discipleship and church-wide initiatives.
Develop ministry strategies that focus on the unique needs of parents as their children move through each stage of development.
Develop healthy and growing small groups both inside and outside of the Church.
Create, develop, and/or oversee all discipleship events.
Assist in long-term ministry planning.
Recruit and train leaders for new small group opportunities.
Oversee the selection, enlistment, and training of adult ministry staff and volunteers.
Recommend and assign suitable space, equipment, and curriculum for all groups and studies.
In partnership with the Director of Outreach, organize and provide regular mission/ministry projects through local partnerships.
In partnership with the Director of Outreach, organize and facilitate all national and foreign mission opportunities.
In connection with the Communications Department, keep the congregation informed on the life-giving work of all Community ministries events.
Shepherd and develop our Community Ministries team.
Collaborate with your team to refine existing strategies and take them to the next level.
Manage the adult discipleship budget.
Oversee all large events at First Presbyterian Church.
Qualifications:

Must be a servant and team player, seeking the overall good of FPCE.
Seeks to contribute to a healthy staff culture.
Experience in discipleship and forming and growing small groups.
Understanding of foreign missions.
Experience in overseeing large events.
Attends all staff meetings, retreats, and conferences as directed.
Stays current with ministry trends including continuing education by attending conferences, etc.
Proficient with current technology and communication tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
