You will be joining an entrepreneurial team within Starbucks venturing into new café concepts across the country in Siren Retail. Through observations, data analysis and determining trends, you will take part in developing the strategic direction as well as leading the organization in utilizing data to assess performance to plan. You will present data to leadership to help make data-driven decisions that grow the business. You will be at the forefront leading and collaborating with operations, product, brand, engineering, and marketing teams as well as our technology partners. Siren Retail has a fast-paced environment; often requiring quick decisions based on evolving customer and business needs.
As a Decision Scientist, you will…
- Work cross-functionally to understand strategic business needs and provide analysis, interpretation, and recommendations for key decision-making.
- Work under consultative or self-initiated direction to assess and produce relevant, standard, or custom information (reports, charts, graphs, and tables) from structured data sources.
- Create impactful visual representations of analytic insights and concise summaries of methodology geared to audience needs; present selected portions to stakeholders.
We’d Love To Hear From People
- Who have experience in technical project execution with great attention to detail and achieving results without direct supervision.
- Who are experienced in data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving, including business performance measurement.
- Who are curious, learning new things, and love to solve problems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience utilizing tools such as Tableau.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Proficiency with SQL, SAS, Python, or R; familiarity with both.
- Ability to convey technical information in an accessible and understandable manner.
- Strong conceptual and creative problem solver with the ability to work with a blank slate and inspire others.
- Technical project execution with demonstrated attention to detail and achieving results without direct supervision.
- Performance metrics development and root cause analysis.
- Service industry or manufacturing operations analysis (3 years).
- Process improvement.
- Project management.

The pay range for this position may be narrower than that displayed, depending on where the work is performed.
