General Purpose Of The Position
The purpose of this position is to produce new sales revenue for Switch Connect. This position will report to the VP of Connectivity.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Sales of telecommunications services for direct, wholesale or agent channel models
  • Be 100% available for colo sales team to assist with projects, calls, tours, questions and other needs as they arise
  • Effectively manage sales and quoting process of telecommunications services for Switch customers and prospects
  • Team selling - engage and effectively manage sales process of telecommunications services in support of the Switch colocation team’s sales process
  • Assist with circuit ordering and provisioning process including project management, customer communications, escalations, updating Salesforce.com and other tasks as needed
  • Interact with clients in a manner that reflects the positive, professional image of Switch
  • Drive incremental revenue and customers to Switch with a focus on network services
  • Perform effective and accurate customer network reviews, designs, and work with technical resources internally and externally to create the best solutions for Switch customers leveraging a large portfolio of global carrier’s products
  • Perform effective and accurate data center tours that educate clients about the unique and industry-leading capabilities of the facilities with the goal of closing new business
  • Consistently and accurately enter and record all customer-related activities into Salesforce
  • Continually maintain contact with prospects and close new business effectively
  • Consult with prospects to help them architect their data center and network deployments based on the capabilities of the Switch data centers and Switch Connect
  • In accordance with your VP’s direction, interact with Switch’s carrier partners to obtain circuit pricing, negotiate terms, drive circuit provisioning, maintain communication and positive relations, and or follow-up on various carrier related issues
  • Create and respond to quotes that reflect the prospect’s architecture requirements and accurate pricing
  • Manage telecommunication circuit quotes from request to delivery
  • Assist the sales team in the sales process and various tasks

Other Duties:

  • Responsible for staying abreast of best practices both internally and externally
  • Assist with special projects on an ad hoc basis
  • Other projects and/or duties as assigned

Computer Equipment and Software:

  • Thorough working knowledge of various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Intermediate skills in SalesForce

Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: Minimum of 3 + years progressively responsible experience in sales or sales engineering in telecommunications

Telecom experience a must

Experience with SIP and SDWAN services highly valued
