Why does the job exist?
This position oversees and provides administrative management of the Civil Investigations and Enforcement Unit. Oversees case management ensuring the requests for investigations are appropriately screened and assigned. Assures that the unit is moving the caseload through the investigative process in a timely manner. This position provides first response to escalated investigations. The position also monitors the Units performance, evaluates outcomes, implements corrections and changes to better the Unit. Ensures all investigation files, records, correspondence, logs and databases are maintained in compliance with all established timelines and procedures accurately buy the Unit. Assures all documents produced by the Unit are thoroughly researched and proofed before being submitted for further action is taken. Manages leave of the Units; personnel to ensure that absences are adequately covered, and all polices pertaining to leave are followed. Completes all documents pertinent to Personnel Actions including performance evaluations. Prepares and conducts any necessary training for the Investigations and Enforcement Unit. Conducts and participates in any disciplinary matters as required.
How does it get done?
This position manages the CID Civil Investigation and Enforcement Unit which investigates violations of the Construction Industries Licensing Act and the rules adopted pursuant to the acts, by licensees of the division and unlicensed activity. Acts as the liaison between the unit and the Construction Industries Commission reporting investigation findings of the section and the Commission and assists in the processing of Commission disciplinary action.

Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills, great organization and previous supervisory experience. Spanish speaking is ideal but not required. Must posses the ability to multi-task and handle irate callers. Must have great writing skills. Must be willing to travel and obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements
Must be able to pass a background check and maintain a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
