Let us be your guide. The Oxbow Hotel in Eau Claire, WI is hiring for a mixologist who is passionate about creating craft cocktails and providing excellent customer service to our guests. Responsibilities: • Has a valid and current bartending license. • Maintains customer-oriented focus when executing all tasks. • Maintains ambiance with a positive and professional attitude. • Greets guest warmly with appropriate verbiage. • Promptly provides guests with water and menus. • Thoroughly answers questions about the menu and items offered. • Gives knowledgeable recommendations based on guest preferences. • Cards guest when appropriate. • Knows and follows federal and state laws and company policies related to the sale of alcohol. • Does not over-serve and effectively cuts off the sales of alcohol when applicable. • Stays available and visible to guests during the majority of their visit. • Accurately handles all cash and credit cards. • Work effectively alongside fellow bar staff to ensure a better flow of service. • Support and train new team members to ensure consistency in the steps of service when applicable. • Accurately follows the recipe and build sheets provided. • Resolves guest issues to the best of their ability and seeks out managerial help as necessary. • Maintain complete knowledge of the bar/restaurant POS system for placing food orders. • Know all menu items, prices, and specifications. • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas. • Perform and complete bartender opening and closing duties. • Know and abide by all environmental policies. • Closes out daily sales and accurately deposits all funds owed to the establishment. • All other duties as assigned. • Up-sells menu items. • Know how to effectively expedite tickets and communicate with fellow team members. • Changing a keg. • Quick to recommend an alternative item if the first option is unavailable. • Completes cleaning projects as required. • Knowledgeable of the surrounding areas and events within the hotel. • Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs. This role is part-time and the pay rate is $12/hr. plus a portion of the tip pool. Must be available to work during hours of operation: Tuesday - Saturday 5 pm-10/11 pm. Qualifications: • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Skills and to maintain concentration while working in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated. • Ability to operate POS systems accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment. • Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcohol. • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. • Minimum 1 year of service industry experience required. • Must be TIPS trained and certified. Compensation: $12 hourly + portion of tip pool
