Responsibilities
- Work cross functionally with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality to develop and execute software verification test approaches for manufacturing equipment, automation and systems.
- Assist software developers and domain experts in designing, performing, and improving verification tests.
- Provide technical assistance for escalated production issues.
- Assist in the definition, capture and documentation of user needs and system requirements.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating in a fast-paced team environment and delivering high-quality software products using established agile development methodologies (such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.) against formal schedules.
- Utilize defect tracking and version control tools as an integral part of the software life cycle development process (such as Jira and Git).
- Utilize SQA skills to write verification plans, test protocols, test reports, and requirements traceability matrices in accordance with the company's established SDLC methodology.
- Manually execute test cases and drive the formal verification process.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability of new software testing technologies to system development efforts.
- Work with software & engineering teams to ensure alignment of architecture and user requirements.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience working in Software Quality Assurance or other areas of the SDLC.
- Proven skills for writing verification plans, protocols, reports and all aspects of documentation required for formally releasing a product.
- Possess basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with iterative development life cycle methodologies and application of those principles, especially Agile (Scrum) development practices.
- Experience with a defect tracking system such as Jira.
Preferred
- Experience operating, testing, and supporting SW for instrumentation or in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse, Ranorex.
- Experience and understanding of basic automated manufacturing systems, tools and components (electrical and pneumatic control, sensors, metrology systems, PLCs).
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing automation such as MES & SCADA.
- 2+ years working with an automated testing framework such as Ranorex or Selenium.
- Proficient with source control management repositories (such as GIT) and CI/CD practices.
- Possess basic object-oriented programming skills in languages such as Java, C#.
- Willingness and ability to quickly adapt and maintain software products and current testing technologies.
- Ability to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor or Master’s degree (or higher) in Computational Science, Computer Science or related field from an accredited university (or foreign equivalent).
- 1-2 years experience as Software Test Engineer.

The estimated base salary range for the Software Test Engineer I role based in the United States of America is: $67,000 - $100,600. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
