Description

Applies knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to the development and improvement of processes. Identify limitations, or potential issues with datasets and data types that may impact performance from machine learning algorithms. Re-train models as needed to address new challenges, or novel goals. Aid investigators and stakeholders in the validation of results. Generate detailed reports and presentations. May mentor and train junior staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Compile, manipulate, and analyze data using descriptive and inferential statistics to address a broad spectrum of research and administrative questions.
  2. Use statistical software to create data analysis programs/syntax with appropriate documentation.
  3. Understand and interpret data analysis programs/syntax written by others involved in data analysis in the department.
  4. Explain complex statistical concepts in the form of presentations or written project reports/documentation.
  5. Write and/or review relevant portions of research study manuscripts and/or abstracts.
  6. Effectively visualize and organize complex datasets for the production of high-quality figures and tables for reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
  7. Consult with various researchers or administrators regarding data analytic needs, feasibility of proposed analyses, sequential procedures, and project timelines.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $85,600 - $139,100

Qualifications

Doctorate degree in a related field OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
