Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Our Retail Energy client is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for a 3+ month contract in Houston, TX (Downtown, Onsite/Hybrid). You will be responsible for managing various aspects of contract administration and project coordination with the procurement operations team. Our client is decommissioning a coal-fired power plant and standing up a new gas turbine power plant. You will work with a distributor and new vendors to establish the new contracts to ensure the plant has the materials they need.

Responsibilities

• Work through contracts and issue purchase orders (POs).
• Provide by-weekly updates on the progress of the project to operations stakeholders
• Ensure correct pricing and establish timelines with distributors and vendors.
• Coordinate with established distributor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-3+ years strategic sourcing experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or project management, preferably within a regulated industry such as utilities.
• Strong communication skills to regularly update operations on progress
• Strong understanding of contract management principles, including contract types, terms, and conditions.
• Proven experience in project coordination
• Proficiency in contract management systems (e.g., SAP and/or Coupa) and MS Excel.
