The Market Head of Sales and Service is responsible for the growth and profitability of our Commercial and Specialty businesses for Middle Market in Florida. The Market Head leads a team of sales and account management professionals responsible for meeting customer needs and helping those customers make better decisions about their health care benefit programs and health care spending. This leader will provide strategic direction and leadership to the team so that they're able to achieve sales, service, and retention goals for their assigned book of business and producers. This leader is primarily responsible for developing and executing business development strategies that consider the complex nature of purchasing decisions in the Middle Market Commercial space.

  • Establishing, communicating, and executing strategic direction, operational sales and marketing strategy, and performance measures in line with company, segment, region, and market/industry goals.

  • Articulating a strategic vision to stakeholders and generating options to achieve that vision.

  • Leading and directing a management team to ensure achievement of sales, membership growth, retention, and profitability goals for a significant business.

  • Analyzing a competitive environment to support and improve pricing, underwriting, and product development strategies, as well as service approaches and sales efforts with an eye to long-term success.

  • Defining and creating a culture focused on translating and delivering strategy into operational reality; instilling a sense of urgency in others to achieve results.

  • Working with clients to establish their strategic vision and determining the most effective implementation approach.

  • Collaborating across the organization to ensure internal and external constituent needs are met.

  • Operating as a change leader suggesting new approaches to drive business growth; breaking down barriers across the organization to achieve business results.

  • Leading transformational efforts to ensure the organization is prepared for long-term future success.

  • Analyzing and solving problems at a strategic and functional level, including participation and interaction with Local and Regional Businesses and Network Management with the market, ACS, Operations, and New Product Development.

  • Proactively helping others understand the organization’s vision through written and verbal communication opportunities; educating constituents on Aetna specific policies, products, and procedures, as well as industry and key business issues.

  • Identifying, cultivating, and maintaining strong relationships with all constituents, both internal and external (key customers and their affiliate organizations, corporate leaders, brokers, consultants, etc.).

  • Participating and presenting at external industry events; serving as the voice of Aetna in the marketplace and being viewed as a key industry leader.

  • Supporting Aetna in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare sales.

  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience with demonstrated success in sales strategy development and execution, accountability, and innovative sales approaches. Demonstrated effectiveness leading and developing diverse, high-performing teams.

  • Strong understanding of funding models in healthcare (i.e., self-insured, fully-insured, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of key sales execution and contract negotiation competencies required to support the sales process, with demonstrated ability to qualify, manage, and deliver quantifiable results over time.

  • Knowledge and experience in the pharmacy/health plan space with a deep understanding of health plans, payer marketplace, program development, operations, and client management.

  • Licensure as required by state law.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $120,800.00 - $265,900.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
