Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems/Sciences, Business Analytics, Machine Learning, Information Technology Management or relevant field of study required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Work Experiences:

  • 3+ years of experience in data science or related field, with a focus on predictive/prescriptive modeling, and statistical analysis required.
  • Experience in the retail industry, preferably in an omnichannel environment.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python/R for predictive analytics and BigQuery for data analysis.
  • Advanced skills in SQL, statistical methods and techniques to address business needs.
  • Ability to process large datasets of structured and unstructured data from various sources (e.g., transactional, customer behavior data, qualitative/quantitative survey data).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data science projects and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders using an unbiased, data-driven approach.
  • Experience with ETL processes, data pipeline creation, and integration of diverse data sources.
  • Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team setting.
  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and validate predictive models to support various business functions such as sales forecasting, customer segmentation, and propensity scoring models.
  • Lead project lifecycles from problem conception to delivery, encompassing metric development, data manipulation, visualization, and analytical/model implementation.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of customer data to reveal insights and identify opportunities for enhancing the customer experience across all touchpoints (Online, App, In-store, Media, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders from marketing, omnichannel, pricing, merchandising, real estate, and executive teams to derive insights and formulate recommendations.
  • Integrate and analyze data from various sources, including transactional, behavioral, and external data, to provide a comprehensive view of the customer journey.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy’s policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
