About the Role:

The Revenue Accounting Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing revenue recognition and order to cash processes. They will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, driving process improvements, system implementations, and policy influences to propel revenue accounting's evolution as the company scales for continued growth. The role will involve presenting revenue results to leaders in Accounting and FP&A, as well as partnering with Sales Ops, Technical Revenue, Cloud Product Management and Engineering, Accounting Transformation, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A, among other cross-functional business partners. Furthermore, the Manager is expected to ensure the accuracy of revenue recognition, commissions accruals, and related accounting in compliance with ASC 606, ASC 340 and internal accounting policies.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and lead the global revenue close and reporting process, including reviewing key controls, reconciliations, and forecast and reporting deliverables.
  • Drive process improvements, including automations and system enhancements.
  • Lead the quarterly revenue forecasting process in partnership with FP&A team members.
  • Analyze new product, service, and go-to-market strategies for their accounting results and develop methods of automating the accounting for those sales.
  • Mentor, train, and develop the Revenue Accounting Team to ensure seamless collaborative work for monthly closes and reporting.
  • Manage Revenue SOX compliance and ensure requirements are met for relevant areas.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in accounting for usage-based SaaS contracts, on-premise term licenses, related professional services, and education.

What You Will Bring:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA certification or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in high-tech revenue roles, with 2+ years of people management
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, primarily revenue recognition (ASC 606) as it applies to on-premise software revenue and SaaS
  • Experience with system enhancement projects
  • Attention to detail and experience multitasking and prioritizing to deliver impact in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to simplify complex situations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels at the company
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience using Netsuite, Netsuite ARM preferred, experience with other revenue accounting systems and Sales commission solution like Xactly also desired
