Superintendent of DeWitt Community Schools

The Board of Education for DeWitt Public Schools is in search of a new superintendent. This is only the preliminary posting; a detailed profile of the ideal candidate will be added at a later date. We encourage interested applicants to refrain from applying until the profile is posted.

Dewitt Public Schools is a highly rated, public school district located in Dewitt, MI, with approximately 3,100 students in K-12. The DeWitt community is located 10 minutes north of Lansing, the State Capital, and 10 minutes northwest of Michigan State University. The traditional, yet growing school district is one of the primary reasons so many choose to reside in DeWitt. The district has a very supportive community and is committed to partnering with parents/guardians to develop the whole child – intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. The district is the largest employer in the community.

The district is 18.5 square miles and has six school buildings:

  1. Fuerstenau Early Childhood Center; (Preschool and childcare); 303 students
  2. Schavey Road Elementary (Grades Y5, K-1st); 499 students
  3. David Scott Elementary School (Grades 2nd and 3rd); 460 students
  4. Herbison Woods Elementary (Grades 4th and 5th); 481 students

Salary and Contract Information:

The Board will offer a comprehensive, multi-year contract. Compensation will be commensurate with the experience of the successful candidate and requirements of the position. A salary range of $160,000- $210,000 has been established.
