Summary of Job

The Human Resources Business Partner will support Denver Housing Authority (DHA) staff by providing human resources support related to performance management, training, talent acquisition, compensation, employee engagement, and employee relations. This role will be a forward-facing advisor to division directors, developing collaborative partnerships and building effective relationships, and passionate about solving complex workforce challenges.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Relations - 25%

  • Act as a mediator in employee disputes, facilitating discussions to resolve conflicts effectively and promoting a harmonious workplace environment.
  • Ensure the consistent application of company policies and procedures, providing guidance and interpretation to managers and employees to uphold fair treatment in all employee relations matters.
  • Collaborate with leadership to address performance-related issues, providing coaching and resources to managers to effectively manage employee performance and development.
  • Lead and facilitate investigations into employee complaints and concerns, gathering relevant information through interviews, documentation, and evidence collection to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the situation.

Talent Acquisition - 25%

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies that attract high-quality candidates aligned with the organization's goals and culture.
  • Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals, to identify and engage potential candidates for open positions.
  • Oversee the interview process by coordinating schedules, preparing interview guides, and participating in interviews to assess candidates' qualifications and cultural fit.
  • Design and implement an effective onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive the necessary training and resources to successfully integrate into the company and contribute to team objectives.

Employee Engagement - 15%

  • Support the administration of employee engagement surveys to gather feedback, analyze results, and identify trends, facilitating action plans to enhance overall employee satisfaction and morale.
  • Create and implement initiatives and programs that promote a positive workplace culture, such as recognition programs, team-building activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees, fostering open lines of communication to ensure that employee concerns, ideas, and feedback are heard and addressed appropriately.
  • Provide coaching and resources to managers on best practices for fostering engagement within their teams, helping them to create an inclusive and motivating work environment.

Training - 15%

  • Collaborate with department leaders to conduct assessments that identify training needs and skill gaps within teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employee development objectives.
  • Administer effective training programs and workshops that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance, utilizing various instructional methods and technologies.

HR Administration - 15%

  • Input and maintain employee information in the HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring accuracy and completeness of records related to personnel changes, benefits enrollment, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide guidance and training to HR staff and other employees on the proper use of the HRIS, promoting best practices for data entry and maintenance to enhance overall system utilization.

Other Duties as Assigned - 5%

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred
  • Six (6) years of experience in Human Resources

Licenses and/or Certifications

  • SHRM CP, PHR, or SPHR strongly preferred

Education and Experience Equivalency:

  • A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement.
