Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Milwaukee WI 53211. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Location: Milwaukee WI 53211
Job Type: 06+ Months - W2 contract - with possible extension
Schedule: – Mon-Fri rotating weekends and holidays 6 am-2:30 pm
Pay Range: MLT starting pay is $25. MLS starting pay $28
(Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities are interchangeable within the job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist, or clinical laboratory scientist.
- Work environment/department will be listed in the requirement.
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
Qualifications /Work Experience:
- GENERALIST WITH BLOOD BANK EXPERIENCE SUPPORTING BLOOD BANK DEPARTMENT **BLOOD BANK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- EXPERIENCE WITH LAB SYSTEM EPIC, OR WELL SKY
- ASCP OR AMT CERT REQUIRED
Education:
- BSMT, BSMLS, BS in chem or bio, or MLT
