Position: Senior Director of Clinical Operations

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Summary:

The Senior Director of Clinical Operations is a multifaceted leadership role within HOPE Atlanta, requiring a unique blend of strategic and clinical oversight, program operations management, and innovative service development. This individual will oversee the organization's behavioral health services by spearheading the inception and integration of a new clinical behavioral health into the agencies housing service programs. The role demands a dynamic leader capable of navigating complex behavioral health ecosystems, driving team excellence, and forging robust community and stakeholder relationships. Central to this position is the passion and commitment to enhancing the well-being and stability of our community members, particularly those facing the greatest challenges. The Sr. Director will not only embody HOPE Atlanta’s mission through dedicated service but will also be instrumental in shaping the future of comprehensive behavioral health care in our community.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight and Leadership

  • Lead the establishment of HOPE Atlanta’s Behavioral Health Program, including service structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based clinical programs that address mental health, substance use, trauma, and other behavioral health needs.
  • Develop a strategic plan for program growth, identifying key service areas and integrating behavioral health with housing, outreach, and case management services.
  • Collaborate with HOPE Atlanta’s executive & leadership team to ensure alignment between departmental goals and the organization's overall mission and strategic vision.

Program Development and Management

  • Oversee the design, execution, and daily operations of our new supportive behavioral health programs, ensuring they meet the current and evolving needs of the community.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments, utilizing data-driven approaches to inform behavioral health program development and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain high-performance standards, ensuring all programs and services comply with federal, state, and local regulations and adhere to best practices in the field.
  • Behavioral Health Service Development
  • Conduct comprehensive community and client needs assessments to identify gaps in behavioral health services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, experts, and stakeholders to develop a client-centered, evidence-based behavioral health program.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and continuous supervision of a specialized behavioral health team.
  • Implement cutting-edge practices and technologies for effective behavioral health management and treatment.
  • Establish partnerships with local healthcare providers, community leaders, and other relevant entities to create a referral network and integrated care model.
  • Develop and manage crisis intervention protocols and services.

Team Development and Management

  • Recruit, mentor, and supervise a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and mutual respect.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and effective services.

Financial Oversight and Sustainability

  • Collaborate with finance to develop and manage budgets for supportive behavioral health services, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising and grants management teams to identify, pursue, and secure funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships, to support program sustainability.

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development

  • Build and nurture relationships with community leaders, healthcare providers, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders to promote collaborative efforts and integrated care.
  • Represent the organization at various community events, public meetings, and fundraising activities, advocating for the needs of the community and the organization's services.

Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation:

  • Partners with Director of CQI to implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure services are delivered effectively, consistently, and in accordance with established standards.
  • Develop and utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to regularly evaluate program outcomes, staff performance, and client satisfaction, making data-informed decisions for continuous improvement.

Crisis Management and Immediate Response

  • Coordinate rapid and effective responses to emergencies affecting the client population, including the development and implementation of crisis management protocols.
  • Ensure the organization is prepared to address the immediate and long-term needs of those affected by crises, leveraging resources efficiently to provide necessary support

Innovation and Service Expansion

  • Encourage and foster innovative thinking within the team to explore new service models, technological advancements, and best practices in emergency and supportive behavioral health.
  • Plan and execute the scaling of successful programs and initiatives to broaden their impact and reach more individuals in need.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in emergency response and behavioral health interventions, including an understanding of regulatory and ethical standards for clinical practice.

  • Financial acumen with experience in fiscal oversight, budget management, and resource allocation.

  • Technologically savvy with experience in utilizing digital tools for program management, reporting, and service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in social work, psychiatry, counseling, or a related field is required.
  • Current LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), or equivalent licensure is required.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision and oversee clinical interns required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in human services, behavioral health, or a closely related field, with at least 5 years in a management role overseeing behavioral health service programs.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and management in a behavioral health context.
  • Demonstrated success in behavioral health program development, managing budgets and ensuring program sustainability.
  • Prior work with diverse populations and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals struggling with homelessness, mental health issues, and other crises.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Homeless Management Information System Client Track, and database systems, etc.
  • Possess a valid Georgia driver’s license, with a good driving record and reliable transportation, required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
