Business Analyst, Pricing, Amazon Fresh Grocery Stores
Have a passion for food? The Pricing & Promotions Team is looking for a Business Analyst to join our team who has a passion for solving unique problems to help us drive world class research and analysis, and invent the future of grocery with our customers.
Key job responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain dashboards for reporting business metrics to analyze the effectiveness of omnichannel price and promotions to inform the business strategy.
- Write high quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze pricing and promotions data, customer purchase behavior, customer insights data, and learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.
- Convert data collected via SQL code and existing customer metric dashboards created by other Business Intelligence teams into insights including implications and recommendations that are specific and actionable across the business.
- Communicate insights using data visualization and presentations to stakeholders.
- Work on new and ambiguous business problems which have not been solved yet and offer the chance to innovate and apply novel approaches to tackle these problems.
- Stay current on best practice in analytics methodologies and trends.
About the team:
The pricing and promotion team is embedded within the larger category team responsible for the assortment and pricing decisions that drive profit and loss. We interact with an array of cross functional stakeholders including technology teams, grocery scientists and economists, marketing, customer insights, and other grocery partners across Amazon. We have strong bias for action and enjoy the energetic nature of being a part of scaling startup within Amazon.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
- 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience.
- 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience.
- 5+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience.
- Prior experience working in grocery industry or pricing analytics preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
