The Recruiter - Camp is responsible for managing the full life-cycle recruitment process of JCC's open seasonal camp positions for summer 2025. This individual will work closely with hiring managers to establish rapport, advise, and coach managers throughout the recruiting and hiring process. The Recruiter - Camp will be a part of a larger HR team focused on providing excellent levels of service to all JCC Chicago clients. This is a part time, temporary position expected to work 20 - 25 hours per week until June 2025.

Key areas of responsibility:
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment process for all seasonal camp positions (Apachi Day Camps in Chicagoland area and Camp Chi overnight camp in Lake Delton, WI).
  • Post open positions utilizing a variety of sites (Indeed, LinkedIn, Handshake, etc.) and JCC's Applicant Tracking System (UKG/UltiPro)
  • Source qualified candidates, review resumes, pre-screen candidates by phone, and create interview plans and closing strategies while moving the interview process forward in a professional and timely manner.
  • Build and maintain a quality pipeline of candidates through fostering positive relationships.
  • Maintain regular, professional communication with candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure a positive applicant experience.
  • Attend job fairs and career events with JCC staff to establish continued partnerships with local and regional high schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to build innovative talent sourcing strategies for open positions and to fill them with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Maintain accountability of the seasonal recruiting process and participate in recruitment-related meetings, providing regular updates on hiring progress to leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Key Essential Job Duties/Physical Requirements:
  • Repetitive movement of arms and hands to operate computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Ability to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as phone, computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
  • Vision: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations and assist in evacuation of building.
Days/Hours/%Travel:
  • Office is located at the Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook, IL. This is a hybrid role requiring 1 or more days per week in the office.
  • Individual will occasionally travel to various JCC locations in the Chicagoland area and to Lake Delton, WI

Education Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or relevant area welcomed.
  • Working knowledge of federal and respective state laws as well as relevant city ordinances.
Previous Experience:
  • 1 - 2+ years' experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Personal or professional familiarity with summer camps appreciated.
