Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Business Analyst to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting the United States Customs and Border Protection.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Interaction: Engage with stakeholders and team members to understand requirements, research issues, and document effective solutions.
- JIRA Administration: Create user stories and tasks in JIRA and assist in the administration of JIRA to streamline project workflows.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers and end users to gather information, address inquiries, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Process Management: Assist in managing the team's processes to facilitate the smooth progression of work, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Team Collaboration: Foster effective communication within the team and with coordinating teams to enhance collaboration and synergy.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in business or project analyst roles within a technical team.
Required Skills
- Experience with SDLC projects using Java and Angular.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Detail-oriented approach to documentation and process management.
- Excellent diplomacy and communication skills with clients and technical staff.
- Proactive approach to relationship building with business team members.
- Strong self-organizational skills.
- Experience with Jira or a similar project management tool.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean practices.
- Proven ability to quickly grasp business functions and technical environments in new projects.
Desired Skills
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar certification/training.
- Understanding of database structures and SQL.
Security Clearance
- Active DHS, CBP or Top-secret security clearance required.
