Job Summary

B&A is looking for a Business Analyst to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting the United States Customs and Border Protection.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Interaction: Engage with stakeholders and team members to understand requirements, research issues, and document effective solutions.
  • JIRA Administration: Create user stories and tasks in JIRA and assist in the administration of JIRA to streamline project workflows.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers and end users to gather information, address inquiries, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Process Management: Assist in managing the team's processes to facilitate the smooth progression of work, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster effective communication within the team and with coordinating teams to enhance collaboration and synergy.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in business or project analyst roles within a technical team.

Required Skills

  • Experience with SDLC projects using Java and Angular.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation and process management.
  • Excellent diplomacy and communication skills with clients and technical staff.
  • Proactive approach to relationship building with business team members.
  • Strong self-organizational skills.
  • Experience with Jira or a similar project management tool.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean practices.
  • Proven ability to quickly grasp business functions and technical environments in new projects.

Desired Skills

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar certification/training.
  • Understanding of database structures and SQL.

Security Clearance

  • Active DHS, CBP or Top-secret security clearance required.
