About the Role
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join their dynamic team, focusing on rail / transit projects in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with New York City Transit (NYCT) or the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout all phases of their projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management: Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems to ensure compliance with NYCT/MTA standards and regulations.
- Project Oversight: Oversee quality assurance and control activities across multiple rail projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Audit and Inspection: Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quality control inspectors and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality control processes, audit results, and corrective actions.
- Training: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the quality awareness and capabilities of project teams.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the rail industry, with specific experience on NYCT or MTA projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are highly desirable but not a deal breaker.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of NYCT/MTA standards, regulations, and best practices.
