About the Sr. Director of Finance and Operations:

The Sr. Director of Finance and Operations reports to and works closely with the Pastor/Head of Staff and is the “Chief Operating Officer” of the church. This role is responsible for managing the overall day-to-day operations of the church and providing direction and leadership for strategic planning efforts.

Responsibilities Include: 

  1. Provide input on the development and maintenance of the church’s mission and strategic plan.
  2. Manage and provide oversight of church financial matters, including budget responsibility, financial analysis, and reporting.
  3. Responsible for the annual stewardship program.
  4. Manage human resource activities and policies including staffing, performance management, and compliance.
  5. Direct supervisory responsibility for church accountant, Director of Communications, and Facilities Manager.
  6. Operations management, including safety and risk management.
  7. Provide crisis management support for the church.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring: 

Education & Experience

  • Undergrad degree is strongly preferred.
  • 7 - 10 years experience in finance, operations, HR.
  • Experience with church or non-profit world.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Significant experience managing complex organizational situations.
  • Experience in finance and budget management, strategic planning, and human resource management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to mission.
  • Strong reasoning, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
