The areas within Strategic Enrollment are responsible for increasing access to a CU Denver education by providing programs and outreach to prospective students and supporting students through their application and enrollment to CU Denver. Through proactive initiatives focused on enrollment growth, increasing applicant engagement, and improving retention and completion rates, Enrollment Navigators and the Strategic Enrollment office engages with students and removes barriers towards degree and non-degree seeking programs at the University of Colorado Denver.

As a part of the Strategic Enrollment team, Enrollment Navigators are primarily focused on engaging with prospective and incoming students in two-way conversations and presentations that provide information, support, and guidance as new students navigate the enrollment process. This position provides enrollment counseling while collaborating with various campus offices and partners to provide a seamless student enrollment experience.

The ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of higher education, recruitment and admission procedures, registration, financial aid, student billing operations, new student orientation and advising practices.

What you will do:

  • Work alongside Admissions Counselors, School and Colleges, and with the Lynx Central one-stop team to provide responsive phone, email, text, and face-to-face support for prospective and admitted CU Denver students including one-on-one appointments.
  • Assists students in addressing problems and connects them with appropriate support services on campus.
  • Provide comprehensive and exceptional customer service.
  • Interpret and respond to student inquiries.
  • Serve as a liaison between the student and other departments to support students through resolving their needs.
  • Navigate and assist with admissions processing, financial aid, registrar, new student orientation, registration, bursar, and information technology (IT) related functions.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with applicants, admitted students, and their families and/or influencers through the enrollment funnel to meet qualitative and quantitative targets.
  • Provide detailed information regarding the enrollment process to students, counselors, and families as necessary to facilitate a smooth transition to enrolling in CU Denver by working with students and stakeholders in-person, on the phone, via email, and text to complete the steps of enrollment.
  • Collaborate with various office staff across campus to include but not be limited to admissions, financial aid, registration, bursar, campus advisors, new student orientation, housing & dining, information technology, faculty, and academic support staff.
  • During peak application times, support applicants in completing and submitting application documents.
  • Aid incoming students in identifying resources (scholarships, housing, disability services, etc.) to help them in actualizing their goal of enrolling at CU Denver.
  • Represent the CU Denver Office of Admissions at recruitment and yield events (Application Days and Admitted Student Days, and more) to assist applicants and their families as they navigate the enrollment process, to include working some evenings and weekends.
  • Execute data entry, report production, and documenting interactions in CRM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $50,822 - $52,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

  • A bachelor's degree in education, business, public administration, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • One (1) year of professional experience.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Two (2) or more years of Admissions counseling or education outreach experience
  • Event planning and management experience
  • Experience with Technolutions Slate software platform
  • Experience with student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft or Banner)

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Conditions of Employment

  • Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
