Job Description:

As the Vice President of Sales, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth, creating new business opportunities, and expanding our market presence. We are seeking a true hunter who can identify and pursue new sales opportunities, forge relationships, and deliver exceptional results. This is an individual contributor role, and you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Identify, target, and pursue potential clients, partners, and opportunities for growth within the transportation and warehousing industry.
  • Build a robust pipeline of new business opportunities by leveraging industry knowledge and market insights.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to win new clients and secure long-term contracts.

Revenue Growth:

  • Meet and exceed annual sales targets, driving revenue growth through a consultative, solution-oriented sales approach.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and upsell opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute sales plans, forecasting, and budgeting.

Market Expansion:

  • Research, analyze, and monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to expand our market presence.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the transportation and warehousing industry, providing valuable insights to the organization.

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, aligning them with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance sales culture, fostering a competitive and results-driven sales team.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with various departments, including operations, marketing, and customer service, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Provide feedback to the executive team on market demands and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
  • Proven track record of success in an individual contributor sales role within the transportation and warehousing industry.
  • Extensive industry knowledge and a strong network of contacts.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales plans.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and a true hunter mentality.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills (if required to build and manage a sales team in the future).
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and prospects.
