Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Network Development and Strategic Partnerships, the Project Manager will perform a variety of administrative duties related to the Mass General Cancer Center and Cancer Center Network Development. The Project Manager must be skilled at multi-tasking, adhering to deadlines, and working in a team-oriented environment with strong communication skills. The Project Manager will support a variety of complex projects; the individual will be exposed to a broad range of Mass General Cancer Center projects. The Project Manager will assist with projects from conception through implementation and serve as the primary administrative contact for Cancer Center leadership, Network Development, and special projects.

In this role, the Project Manager ensures the timeliness and thoroughness of projects, facilitates information requests, and sets agendas for meetings and other forums. They will monitor and track project progress and outcomes and ensures that information flows smoothly between the project teams and senior leadership.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Mass General Cancer Center Project Manager is responsible for a variety of crucial tasks related to Cancer Center projects, including:

  1. Coordinate meetings and conferences, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual events; such as tumor boards, case conferences, and other educational events/series as determined by Cancer Center leadership.
  2. Coordinate event logistics, including setup, teardown, and cleanup of events.
  3. Organize audiovisual equipment for events both internally and externally as needed.
  4. Coordinate hotels, transportation and food for meetings and conferences.
  5. Coordinate and create project deliverables related to events.
  6. Serve as point of contact for Cancer Center events.
  7. Schedule conference calls and prepare meeting logistics.
  8. Manage development of meeting agendas and log meeting minutes.
  9. Manage Cancer Center Network newsletter.
  10. Attend and monitor meeting and conference activities to ensure participant satisfaction.
  11. Develop budgets in collaboration with finance director for events, conferences and meetings as needed.
  12. Implement various event themes and types to realize vision of Cancer Center leaders.
  13. Manage invoices, and payments in collaboration with Cancer Center finance team.
  14. Anticipate needs and prepare for any potential problems.
  15. Develop post-event reports to determine effectiveness.
  16. Provide cross coverage to team members as needed.
  17. Engage in any special projects as needed.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Academic Health Center experience is a plus.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.

This role is critical in assuring that the Mass General Cancer Center delivers high quality service to clients in an efficient manner. Ability to manage competing deadlines, openness towards learning, grace and poise under pressure, knowing when to seek direction or guidance, being detail-oriented and flexible are key attributes for this position's success.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This role will be a hybrid position and may require working outside of normal business hours on occasion when hosting events/conferences/meetings.
