SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Director, Strategic Sourcing Facilities & Marketing resource for the TransformCo Sourcing & Procurement (S&P) organization. TransformCo’s non-merchandise S&P organization is committed to delivering its enterprise clients the right solution, on time, and at the best value by utilizing the highest ethical sourcing strategies. This individual thrives on solving problems, develops Strategic Sourcing initiatives, and collaborates closely with key stakeholders across Sears, Shop Your Way, Sears Home Services and the Kmart brands and business units. This position requires a candidate with proven leadership ability to facilitate, guide, and implement improvements within the organization and operations here at TransformCo. This role will require daily balancing of both tactical and strategic activities as well as interacting cross-functionally with business units to drive value and change. This role will require negotiation with suppliers and internal collaboration with project managers, engineers, as well as senior leadership, and will work closely with Finance, Retail, Legal, Marketing, Technology and Real Estate stakeholders.

Position reports to Vice President, Chief Procurement Officer (CPO)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sourcing Process - Experience facilitating the Strategic Sourcing supplier selection process, negotiating complex contracts, redlining and drafting contracts, developing scopes of work (SOWs), as well as building financial modeling and presenting deals to leadership.
  • RFx Process - Draft RFPs, RFIs & RFQs as needed for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met. Coordinate supplier site walks as required, presentations, or any other RFP-related activities, and serves as the conduit between suppliers and stakeholders. Work with in-house Legal counsel on contractual documentation including master services agreements (MSAs), SOWs, change orders (COs), etc. Ownership of project and contract governance utilizing Yardi and NetSuite or any other required system tools.
  • Stakeholder Liaison - Actively engage with stakeholders, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and project teams collaborating on projects and aligning on objectives. Build and foster relationships and effectively partner across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and colleagues to influence change.
  • Strategy Development & Implementation - Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for managing the company's supply base to minimize costs while ensuring suppliers’ quality delivery of products and services.
  • Portfolio Management - Manage key procurement Marketing portfolio. Coordinate with an offshore support team for transactional procurement support. Partner with Marketing leadership to develop Strategic Sourcing roadmaps and lead major cross-departmental, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Marketing Portfolio - Structures competitive performance Marketing contracts and works closely with Marketing stakeholders to introduce new campaigns and affiliate marketing activities.
  • Budget Management - Develop and adhere to detailed project plans and budgets for all categories of spend. Partner with Finance to understand CAPEX & OPEX budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities in Facilities and Marketing spend categories.
  • Cost Savings & Process Improvement - Identify and develop opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions, influencing stakeholders to adopt these practices. Contribute to the achievement of defined performance targets, savings targets, and S&P goals.
  • Contract Negotiation - Independently manage the negotiation of supplier business terms and contract redlines, ensuring the accuracy of negotiated deal points on all final contractual documentation. Possess a strong understanding of pricing models, SLAs, benchmarking, negotiate with suppliers to secure contracts that obtain the best products and services for the lowest attainable cost with the highest possible service levels. Manage and adapt contracts and agreements to meet changing business needs and market conditions.
  • Data Analysis - Use data tools and apply robust analytics to model various business scenarios, interpret data, analyze resulting cost (TCO modeling), impact, risks, and benefits to inform and recommend business solutions.
  • Program Governance - Develop and implement supplier metrics for reporting and compliance, mitigating supplier risk, business continuity and supplier compliance.
  • Market Intelligence - Maintain an expert understanding of service offerings within the industry, staying ahead of emerging trends and product developments that could impact various business lines and functions. Provides regular intelligence to stakeholders regarding the Company’s evolving spending profile, innovative technology & solutions, savings results, risk mitigation, etc. Leverage industry associations, peers, and stakeholders to identify best practices for strategic sourcing for outsourcing category and supplier management.
  • Communication - Provides regular updates on procurement activities, progress, and challenges.
  • Role - This individual will work in a heavily matrixed environment as an individual contributor.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing and supplier relations experience and 7+ years leading Strategic Sourcing and Procurement operations teams.
  • Hands-on strategic negotiation experience and portfolio management experience with Facilities, Marketing, Construction, and FF&E.
  • Must have both quantitative and qualitative market research experience.
  • Ability to interpret and utilize key financial data; can tell a story with data.
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills with the ability to quickly adapt to change.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; must be able to thrive in a dynamic environment using change management to coach others.
  • Have a proactive, forward-thinking, and solutions-focused mindset. This includes the ability to anticipate problems, recognize the broader implications of issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment of tight turnarounds.
  • Demonstrated comfort level with ambiguity.
  • Proven track record of high-value, complex deal-making successes with the ability to professionally navigate through difficult conversations to obtain buy-in.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently but also able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented department.
  • Business, legal and financial acumen to communicate and develop integrated sourcing strategies.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail, positive attitude, and ability to work as a team member.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint to analyze and pivot data, design workflows, graphs, and charts.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills.
