What does this position do?
As the HR Manager, you will take ownership of all HR matters across the company from recruitment to performance reviews, administering pay, benefits, disciplinary action, learning and development, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Builds partnerships with the retail leadership team to develop strategies to improve retention, decrease turnover, and improve employee performance and engagement practice.
- Maintains data integrity and documentation in personnel files and core HR systems through proactive means (audits, testing, etc.) and drive activities around compliance.
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Oversees the administration of employee benefit programs including health, dental, life, disability, retirement, Flexible Spending Accounts, and all leave programs.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state human resource requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
- Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Fosters a healthy and resilient culture – one that features a strong team spirit, embraces accountability and collaboration, and adapts well to change – both within the department and across the organization.
- Develops and implements human resource strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required from a four-year college or university.
- A minimum of five years of human resource management experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP are highly desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive
- Experience with multi-state compliance.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
- People-oriented and results-driven.
- Prior experience in retail, ecommerce, or wholesale industry is a plus.
The Salary range for this position is between $75,000 - 85,000
