A History of Excellence
In 2010, Oakes Auto was founded in Merriam, KS by Dan Oakes. It quickly grew to one of the largest independent automotive dealerhsips in the Kansas City area.
In 2018, we were named National Used Car Dealer of the Year by DealerRater. In June of that year, we purchased a Mitsubishi franchise, which we relocated to Kansas City, KS and rebranded as Oakes Mitsubishi.
In December of the same year, we purchased a Kia franchise located in North Kansas City, MO and relaunched it as Oakes Kia. In both 2021 and 2022, Oakes Kia was named to Kia's President's Club, a prestigious award presented to only 40 dealers in the US.
In May 2022, we added Oakes Ford to our family by purchasing a Ford franchise in Pleasanton, KS.
In August of 2023, we added Oakes Buick GMC - the latest addition to the Oakes Auto Family.
Oakes is proud to be a member of the Kansas City community. We support several local organizations, including KCMO Angels, Ronald McDonald House Charities - Kansas City, Toys for Tots Kansas City, and several area school districts and food pantries.
At Oakes Auto, we are committed to your success. We provide the factory training necessary to complete certifications, and associates are assigned a mentor to help guide them through the learning process. We provide tuition reimbursement and tools assistance for recent college graduates.
