Our client, an industry leader in precision equipment and solutions, is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes across its four divisions. This role will encompass job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and talent management. The Senior HR Generalist will ensure the HR department aligns with the company’s strategic objectives and fosters a high-performance culture.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with department managers to forecast staffing needs and succession planning.

Employee Relations

  • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries.
  • Partner with Plant/Operations Management on employee relations issues.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement and recognition events.

Performance Management

  • Collaborate with site management to administer performance management systems.
  • Facilitate performance appraisals and guide managers on effective evaluation methods.
  • Support employees in setting career goals and identifying development opportunities.

Training & Development:

  • Identify training needs and design programs to enhance employee skills.
  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions on HR-related topics.
  • Evaluate training program effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Partner with the Finance team to administer employee compensation programs.
  • Conduct market research to ensure competitive pay practices.
  • Manage the annual salary review process.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollments with the Corporate HR Director.

HR Policies & Compliance:

  • Apply corporate HR policies and procedures to business practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain accurate employee records through the Paycom payroll system.
  • Provide weekly Excel reports on recruiting, open positions, headcount, FMLA, and Workers' Compensation to the CEO and Corporate HR Director.
  • Manage FMLA and other leave processes, partnering with Corporate HR on workers' compensation issues.
  • Complete the annual OSHA log in conjunction with safety leads.

HR Strategy & Planning:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Participate in HR planning activities and provide insights on workforce trends.
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Serve as part of the Executive Management Team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with payroll/HRIS systems – Paycom preferred.
  • 7+ years of HR experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Assertiveness in supporting equitable treatment for all employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams and committees.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities enthusiastically.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.

Travel

  • 25% travel to division locations is required. This position can be based in St. Louis, MO or Princeton, WV. If located in Princeton, WV, monthly travel to facilities in Poca, WV, and Tazewell, VA is expected, along with additional travel to Stafford, TX, Raleigh, IL, and St. Louis.
