About the Role:
As an Outreach Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of Fabric’s expansion, engaging with communities in DC and Maryland. Spend your days building connections, understanding a family’s needs, and guiding them through essential applications. This is not just a job; it’s a chance to redefine how healthcare support is delivered!
What You’ll be Getting Into:
- Building relationships with families in laundromats
- Understanding the unique needs of these families and identifying where they need support
- Assisting families with public benefits applications like Medicaid, SNAP, and LIHEAP, as well as helping them navigate their health plans
- Making referrals to external resources

Qualifications:
- In-person laundromat engagement: Willingness to work inside laundromats, creating meaningful connections (don’t worry - you don’t have to do laundry!)
- Weekend availability: Consistent availability on weekends, the prime time for laundry!
- Reliable transportation: Navigate different locations in DC, Prince George’s County, and Montgomery County
- Experience with high-needs populations: Background in supporting vulnerable communities
- Tech savvy: Comfort with and desire to learn new technologies
Nice to Haves:
- Fluency in Spanish
- Familiarity with state benefit applications
Salary and Benefits:
$25 - 27/hr.
