Position Summary:

The Creative Director leads the strategy, development, and execution of digital and direct mail campaigns to support the mission of Connecticut Foodshare. This role focuses on enhancing brand visibility, engagement, and fundraising efforts. The Creative Director will work cross-functionally to design campaigns that increase philanthropic support, volunteer engagement, and community awareness, ensuring the food bank can continue to serve those in need. Reports to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive direct mail and digital marketing strategies to support the organization's fundraising, awareness, and advocacy efforts.
  2. Lead the team in the creation of compelling, data-driven campaigns that resonate with donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  3. Collaborate with senior leadership to align marketing strategies with the organization's mission, vision, goals, and fundraising objectives.
  4. Stay current on industry trends, new platforms, and tools to ensure innovative approaches in marketing campaigns.
  5. In collaboration with the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, oversee the planning, production, and execution of direct mail and digital marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
  6. Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels, including email, social media, website, and print.
  7. Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics (ROI, engagement, conversions) and use insights to optimize future initiatives.
  8. Manage relationships with external vendors, including printers, designers, and agencies as needed.
  9. Work closely with multiple departments specifically Development (Giving) Data, and Network Relations, to align marketing efforts with fundraising goals and program initiatives.
  10. Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging creativity and innovation across the team.
  11. Oversee the digital and direct mail budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maximizing campaign impact.
  12. Report regularly on marketing efforts, providing insights and recommendations for future improvements.

Requirements

Minimum Education/Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field with 3 years of related experience in similar or related function in comparable environment OR 7 years of related experience in similar or related function in comparable environment.
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office
  3. Experience working in the non-profit sector, particularly with fundraising-focused campaigns, is highly preferred.
  4. Strong analytical skills and experience with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, and email marketing platforms.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  6. Proven track record of success or knowledge in managing direct mail and digital marketing campaigns.

Preferred Education/Experience

  1. Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  2. 7+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
