Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAS Programmer. In this role, you will build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand critical business requirements and deliver optimal outcomes. You will be responsible for supporting reporting platforms, creating reports, and working on system components to ensure smooth operations and data insights.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
• Participate in requirements and design sessions and implement new system components or fix system defects using business intelligence software.
• Read and understand business requirements, seeking clarification where needed, and follow standard change control practices.
• Incorporate source code reuse where applicable and ensure conformance to departmental development standards.
• Set up and execute component tests, tracking and documenting system defects.
• Participate in software design and programming reviews and recommend improvements to standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties necessary to fulfill the primary job responsibilities.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation for platform support.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field with five years of relevant work experience. A combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
• 5+ years of advanced SAS programming and administration experience.
• 3+ years of experience in relational database concepts and SQL.
• Strong ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
• Self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical staff.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly within healthcare.
• Experience with system administration and on-call processes.
