The Webster is seeking a Logistics Associate who will be based in our New Jersey Warehouse. The Logistics Associate will be supporting multiple activities and team members. They will be responsible for gathering and providing critical information to facilitate the visibility and timely flow of goods for the US and Canada regions. A key component of this role will require strong organization and time management skills. As the main point of contact for the transportation network this individual will ensure all issues or potential delays with freight forwarding partners are identified and resolved in a timely manner. They will provide support as needed to the logistics team and be a key member for cross-functional teams
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare daily shipment files for freight forwarders and customs brokers for seamless importation, and update contents of shipments for Company visibility.
- Proactively monitor and follow-up on shipment status solving shipping issues with freight forwarders and customs brokers. Issues can relate to Fish and Wildlife / CITES, Lacey, and other PGA requirements.
- Communicating cross functionally across the company and reporting to key stakeholders to ensure all processes are being followed and targets are being met.
- Administrative tasks including invoice processing, performance reporting, financial reporting, analytical research of shipment value and activity, and overall support of process improvements for the transportation network.
- Monitor team inbox promptly replying to inquiries received.
- Create proformas for boutiques and departments while ensuring data accuracy and assist with shipping documents to minimize delays.
- Key owner in management of company routing guide by maintaining up-keep and ensuring vendors are compliant with guidelines agreed upon.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reporting on vendor KPIs.
- Responsible for document and license recordkeeping
- Assist with filing claims.
- Assist on the management of packaging inventory at 3PL. Work with digital, sales, & planning to ensure inventory levels are correct to support the business.
- Assist and help foster freight forwarder and broker relationships by meeting with account representatives monthly
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics is preferred.
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience within logistics.
- Good understanding of shipping paperwork, international customs requirements, documentation, and tax and duties.
- Passionate and curious about logistics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft excel capable of manipulating large sets of data.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and excellent time management skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and a positive can-do attitude.
- Experience working with domestic and international transport carriers (UPS, FEDEX, DHL, LTL)
- Experience with 3PL preferred
- Experience using NetSuite or another ERP system preferred
