The Night Auditor reviews the daily guest ledger of the hotel and verifies financial balances. Also acts as a Front Desk clerk during night hours, including checking guests in or out, taking reservations by phone, and providing services to guests.
Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate front desk cash drawers, room sales, and accurate folio transactions
· Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
· Issue room key and escort instructions
· Transmit telephone messages
· Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions
· Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts
· Compute bills, collect payments, and make changes for guests
· Make and confirm reservations
· Post charges such as room, sundry items, fax or copy
· Make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations, and arrange for tours
· Deposit guests' valuables in safe deposit box
· Answer telephone calls promptly and politely in accordance with hotel policies
· Restock work area - maintain neat and organized work area
· Deliver supplies to guests as needed
· Review data regarding room status, income and expenditures
· Prepare computer generated reports as required
· Verify journal and ledger entries of cash, check and credit card payments
· Transmit daily credit card batches to bank
· Prepare checkout folios for daily departures with credit card payments
